Tutoring

Contact: anneoparkerperkola@gmail.com

I love to learn, and I love to help others find ways to learn that support them. As a tutor, I am interested in forming long-term, one-to-one relationships with students and helping my students build the skills they need to not only academically succeed but also to grow and flourish as whole beings. I have taught students of a range of ages and interests for many years in multiple contexts.

Pricing and Logistics

I conduct all tutoring individually, live via Zoom at a rate of $75/hr. I am willing to consider a discounted rate if a student wishes to purchase 5+ sessions at once. I am committed to treating all persons with dignity and respect.

Additional Information

I tutor ages 11+. I tailor my tutoring methods according to the particular learning styles and needs of my students and am a firm believer in multiple intelligences (abstract, emotional, kinesthetic, visual, etc.). We each have a unique contribution to make and to be. Any tutoring sessions for students under 18 must begin with a session in which a parent and/or guardian is present. Parents and/or guardians are welcome to attend any or all continuing sessions for students under 18 at their convenience.

I am happy to be an outside reader for dissertation committees as an independent scholar. I also have experience evaluating book proposals in my specialist subject areas. I have edited Latin sections of citations and manuscripts and performed complex collation duties across English and Latin texts in translation.
